Anthony Johnson Showalter

American composer and music educator who founded the Showalter School of Music and was influential in the shape-note and gospel music traditions. He composed numerous hymn tunes and sacred songs, and published important collections like "Pentecostal Hymns" that shaped American evangelical worship. His work was particularly influential in Southern Baptist and Pentecostal churches.
