Berthold Tours

German-born British composer and organist who composed numerous hymn tunes during the Victorian era. Tours was organist at the Church of St. James the Less, Bethnal Green, London, and created melodies for both Anglican and Nonconformist hymnals. His accessible, singable tunes made him a respected contributor to 19th-century English hymnody.
