Daniel B. Towner

American gospel musician and associate of Dwight L. Moody who composed and arranged numerous hymns and gospel songs for revival meetings and Sunday schools. He was music director at Moody Church in Chicago and contributed substantially to late nineteenth-century evangelical hymnody. His compositions emphasized accessible, singable melodies suited to congregational worship.
