Daniel Iverson

American gospel songwriter and pianist who composed the beloved hymn 'Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross' and numerous other gospel songs. Though less widely documented than his contemporaries, Iverson contributed to early twentieth-century evangelical and Pentecostal hymnody. His compositions emphasized devotional themes and simple, memorable melodies.
