Dwight Lyman Moody

American evangelist and founder of the Moody Bible Institute who collaborated extensively with composer Ira Sankey to produce gospel hymns and revival music. Though primarily an evangelist, he shaped American gospel hymnody through his evangelistic campaigns and institutional influence.
