Eugene Field

American poet and journalist famous for children's poetry such as "Wynken, Blynken, and Nod." Though primarily known for secular verse, Field contributed to Christian and devotional poetry. His whimsical style and attention to lyrical quality influenced popular poetry in the late nineteenth century.
