George Coles Stebbins

American composer and music director who created music for numerous hymns and gospel songs used in revivalist campaigns and churches. Stebbins worked extensively with evangelist D. L. Moody and composed approximately 1,400 hymn tunes and songs during his prolific career, influencing Methodist, Baptist, and evangelical hymnody.
