George Sturgis Duffield Jr.

American Presbyterian minister and hymn lyricist best known for writing 'Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus' (1858), which became one of the most widely sung American hymns of the 19th century. His lyrics reflected evangelical fervor and were set to music by George James Webb.
