Hubert Platt Main

American composer, music publisher, and gospel music pioneer who founded the musical publishing house that bore his name. Main composed gospel hymn tunes and compiled numerous hymnal collections, significantly influencing American evangelical and Holiness movement hymnody. His publications helped standardize gospel music notation and distribution in late 19th-century America.
