Jane Borthwick

Scottish hymn lyricist and translator who, alongside her sister Jane Laurie Borthwick, produced the influential collection 'Hymns from the Land of Luther,' introducing German Protestant hymns to English-speaking congregations. She was a prolific lyricist whose work enriched Victorian Protestant hymnody with translations and original compositions.
