Joachim Neander

German Reformed theologian and prolific hymn writer who composed over 60 German hymns despite his short life. He is remembered for his emotionally vivid and nature-rich hymn texts such as "Lobe den Herren" ("Praise to the Lord, the Almighty"), which remain central to German and English Protestant hymnody.
