Phoebe Palmer

American Methodist evangelist and holiness movement leader who wrote hymn texts emphasizing Christian perfection and sanctification. Though her hymn output was smaller than her daughter's, she contributed significantly to Methodist spiritual life and the gospel hymn movement.
