Priscilla Jane Owens

American hymn writer who contributed numerous texts to Sunday school and revivalist hymnals, including "Jesus saves," "We have an anchor," and "Christ has for sin atone." She was a prolific lyricist whose hymns emphasized evangelical themes and were widely used in Baptist and Methodist contexts.
