Ralph Vaughan Williams

English composer and conductor who made substantial contributions to hymnody through his musical settings and original hymn tunes. He compiled and edited the English Hymnal (1906), which became influential in Anglican worship and featured many of his own compositions. His arrangements and original works significantly shaped twentieth-century British church music.
