British hymn translator and songwriter who created the now-standard English lyrics 'How Great Thou Art' for Carl Boberg's Swedish hymn 'O Store Gud' in 1949. Hine's translation became the definitive English version and contributed significantly to the hymn's global recognition and adoption across denominations. He was instrumental in bridging Scandinavian hymnody with English-speaking congregations.
