Timothy Dwight

American Congregationalist minister, educator, and hymn writer who served as president of Yale College and contributed significantly to American Protestant hymnody. Dwight composed approximately 300 hymns, many reflecting Reformed theology and American evangelical concerns, including the well-known 'I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord.' His work influenced American hymnal development and Congregational worship.
